MY FAVE FASHION DESIGNER FOUND DEAD!!!!!!!

So I was on aol.com today going to my email WHEN there's news that British Designer Alexander McQueen commits suicide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG This is so sad!
if you wanna see the article her is the link: (http://www.aolnews.com/world/article/alexander-mcqueen-british-fashion-designer-commits-suicide/19354121)

but If you are lazy here is some of the article!: 'LONDON (Feb. 11) -- Leading British fashion designer Alexander McQueen, who designed outfits for Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Moss and Prince Charles, has been found dead after taking his own life. The 40-year-old's body was discovered at his home in West London, where he had reportedly hanged himself. It appears as though McQueen had to been suffering depression following the death of his mother earlier this month. A string of worrying posts on Twitter reflected his fragile state of mind.On Feb. 3 he wrote: "I'm letting my followers know my mother passed away yesterday RIPmum xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx." Four days later he posted: "sunday evening been a f*****g awful week but my friends have been great but now i have to some how pull myself together and finish with the HELLS ANGLES & PROLIFIC DEAMONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"'

When I saw the news I was seriously screaming!! but on a better note, my shoes from Zappos.com rang the doorbell, I am not allowed to open them till Feb.24th though because they are my bday present. CAN'T WAIT!

but seriously, R.I.P Alexander McQueen, we will miss you!!!!

VOGUE COLLECTION! (pretty pointless blog post)

I am really tired right now, and no I have no idea why I am not sleeping. Anyway tonight I wanted to talk about this knew amazing fashion magazine type booky thingy. Are you ready to get started? Get ready to envy. As it says on the tittle it is called: 'Vogue Collection Number 9' it is, spring-summer 2010. There is 130 designers, 2600 looks, and 1100 accessories in Paris, Milan, London & New York. If you still have no idea what I am talking about it is a book that shows a lot of different designers' runways and accessories. It is truly amazing, I got it at Barnes and Nobles booksellers for $ 34.95 and I am hopefully gonna post some pictures of the designers I like in my next blog post, I am too tired to do it now (sorry). The two designers I remember really liking though, were John Galliano and Alexander McQueen in Paris. I really liked both their designs because they were both really different (sorry for the short description, again really tired). I tend to like the different designers, (I am so tired that I am having a lot of fragments and bad grammar). Are you guys annoyed that I keep saying I am tired? Because I am. Okay sorry for the short, terrible blog post. I should of done this tomorrow, oh well...

COLOR COLOR!

Wanna see what I wore today? My mother and I went to an Antique show at the Santa Monica airport, it was really fun BUT windy, so it was a bad idea to wear this outfit:

See what I mean? I shouldn't of wore that short skirt, It was flinging everywhere. I had to hold it down to make sure my ass wasn't getting perky (LEOR STOP BEING CRUDE, SORRY). cardigan, shirt --> Old Navy, / skirt, tights --> Nordstrom Department Store/ scarf --> gifted, to my mom ( I stole it). Sorry that there is nothing vintage or thrifted here, I bought these clothes before my vintage/thrift store obsession. Below are close up pictures on my jewelry because you can't see them in the pictures above.
The necklace and bracelet were both bought at the Antique show in the Santa Monica airport. The store did not have a name, sorry...You can't really tell but the necklace is pale pink not clear, I think the lighting messed up the color. The jewelry are from the '90s so not really vintage but still...HEY RATE THIS OUTFIT IN THE COMMENT SECTION BELOW!!

p.s: I think i might of saw Shane Dawson taping a YouTube video, not sure though...

30's and 70's

I was browsing some vintage and thrift stores with my mother a few weekends ago and I finally decided to post some of my findings. The bracelets you see below are rare and and from the early '70s, I hate that I didn't buy them. I think I didn't buy them because they didn't fit my wrist but I still could of had them for fun or given them to a friend...bad move on my part. Aren't they amazingly different? It's not something you see that often, that is why I think I should of bought them...oh well. Don't you hate the feeling when you know you should of bought something when you didn't? I do. Shall we move on to the next picture?Wow, just wow...this vintage jacket is from a thrift store in Venice, California that my mother and I came by. It is Chinese from probably the '30s, no I did not buy it but I remember that the jacket was pretty expensive. I personally love the texture pattern on the jacket and the color is just beautiful. I just wanted to show you guys these two items I found, I might show the other items in another blog post but I'm not sure yet, we will see. Enjoy your weekend, I will see you soon :]

Genius next door

Hi again :] before I forget please, go check out my new blog 'Building Bliss' that is the blog for my rants, I am soon going to start another blog for my photography. Okay let's get to the fashion, taking a turn away from thrift stores and vintage clothing I want to talk about Alexander Mcqueen. I was browsing and saw some of his work from his runways, they are all so stunning. I also went on his website (alexandermcqueen.com) to see if I could afford anything of his, and god...I shouldn't of looked, the price tags just made me depressed. Anyway, I wanted to post some pictures of some of his runway pictures and I was going to describe what I liked. SO LETS GET STARTED!!

(left pic) Isn't this dress so damn stunning? Not only is the fabric amazing, but the whole design is pure genius. In my opinion this dress inspires me, how the birds get bigger toward the end gives me hope. That might not make sense but it does to me.

(right pic) I absolutely love this dress! The hat alone is something special, I can't find anything like it which is wonderful. The design and texture is just amazing, too bad I can't wear this dress to school.
(bottom right pic) This dress is so feminine and beautiful that it instantly makes me smile. The pastel pink, the butterflies, and design of the dress just makes want to fly. (wearing the dress of course)

This is supose to be about me right?

So this blog post will have no pictures, I apologize, hopefully it will be good without it (: So today I was forced to leave my cozy house, and to stop taking Frankie to his litter box to see if he has to make a shit. I am sorry but since my dad got my cat a litter box I have been constantly taking him there to see if he has to pee. I'm pretty sure he hates me know, but whatever...Frankie seriously hates everyone (no that's wrong, he loves us because we give him FOOD, god he's fat). Anyway so I was forced to go to the museum of Tolerance with my home school teacher & her other student. It was the most depressing thing in the world, first of all the museum is depressing in its self but her other student knew so much. She was more arrogant than Catleya (xD. joking...kinda...) I was so happy to see another being not related to my family that I might befriend, god I was wrong. I lost count to how many times she said culture, it was actually quite funny because when she was informing me about why she wouldn't buy over priced chocolate unless the culture considerd the child in child laber was an adult(did what I just said even make sense?), I just nodded and said the accepting: "exactly", "mhmm", "i agree", and so on. I am pretty sure she noted how stupid I was being but whatever, when did it stop being acceptable to be quiet and stare out the window in a car? Oh wait, this is a fashion blog isn't it? Hmmm, can I find a fashion outlook? I wore my mom's navy blue flats, navy blue skinny jeans, a gray V-neck from pacsun, and a red coat from Salvation Army. I know it wasn't fashionable but I didn't feel like impressing anyone at the Museum. Oh and for future reference not all my blog posts will be fashion related, I hope that's okay. You will soon learn I like to rant a lot. Maybe I will just make a new blog all together for my rants. (: More on a fashion note, I am trying to go to a bunch of thrift stores and vintage stores and to buy all these wonderful things. BUT as many of you know, money is often an issue. I am forced to wear the boring V-necks often because I don't really have enough vintage clothes to make an outfit. Okay well knew fashion blogs coming soon! I just felt like ranting about my day! K Ciao

find the good

Am I spoiled for using my depression for new clothes and accessories? My mother and I have been going thrifting around LA lately! It has been so much fun, I love sharing this wonderful hobby with my mother. We went to thrift shops and vintage stores, so far I have bought a wonderful red coat, AN AMAZING VINTAGE PURSE, and a new beret. I personally don't think I am spoiled because before we bought the items I did tell her that she didn't have to buy them for me, but she insisted. It makes me feel guilty because I believe the only reason she is buying these wonderful things for me is because my depression...okay let's not get into that, this blog is about fashion, Not my sad sob stories! Okay now to the purse, it is seriously amazing. The purse is vintage, I am thinking from the early 70's because the mushrooms, and lady bugs illustrated on the bag. It is leather and in GREAT condition!!! I got it at the thrift store 'Salvation Army' in Santa Monica FOR A GREAT DEAL. At normal vintage stores this type of purse could run anywhere from $100-$175, but I got it for a mere 35 dollars!! [(the purse is shown below) (front)]

(back)

Isn't that just beautiful? I can't find a reason why anyone would donate that to a thrift store, I am not letting anyone borrow this purse, NOT EVEN YOU ALANI CATLEYA! (http://friedcufflinks.blogspot.com/) . Oh and I wanted to say a quick fashion tip for you tall babes out there. Has anyone told you, you can't wear heals because of your height? DON'T LISTEN TO THEM! I am not telling you to get a 5 inch heel, but if you want to feel sophisticated and want to hear a click as you town around town, then there is a quick solution. A brown medium height heel boot is the way to go, I always steal my mom's and I always feel beautiful.

They are thrifted 3 years ago from the 'National Jewish Women League' on Fairfax in Los Angeles, no they are not vintage but still very fashionable. If you read that whole thing you are amazing! Seriously, I probably would of stopped reading a few sentences down! Oh and p.s, shoe's like these look amazing on anyone! You do not have to be tall :)
